CERRO NEGRO MINING

GEOLOGIA ECONOMICA

  • Stratoligated deposit, related to the embedment of an intrusive of
    andesitic composition.
  • Sulfide mineralization associated with pyroclastic breccia (Diablo
    Breccia)-shale contacts and intrusive-breccia zones.
  • By cutting the volcano-sedimentary packages, main faults with a
northwest-southeast orientation have been identified, producing the
elevation of the strata with mineral content between the Level 620 sector
    and Pirquitas.
  • Copper oxide mineralization is associated with the outcropping of the
breccia (Pirquitas-Valparaíso), the development of fracture zones (Júpiter -Media Luna Norte) and the presence of the Diablo Gap in ravine areas (Unión-Chiringo-Media Luna Sur).

MINE EXPLOITATION

The Media Luna pit is managed by the company and operationally
worked with contractor resources (heavy machinery and freight).

Sulphides are exploited with underground methods (Room and Pillar and
enhancement).

The uprooting and extraction of Cuenca mineral is carried out jointly by
the company and third parties, the latter working based on a variable
purchase rate with the price of copper.

The oxides are worked in the open pit, except for the Nv sector. 620 that
is worked underground by a third party.
